Fission Craftsman Soul Annihilation Model Kit
rico soul: So I'll add some of the photos from the latest update that haven't been posted yet.

The latest update essentially announced the full release details:

price: 199rmb (so after shipping we should be looking at around $60 USD)
bonus: articulated hands, 5x additional gold painted runners, weapon bracket to display the weapons on the base, and mounting adaptors to mount the leg missile launchers on the arms

target release April 2024
Strange Work 1/60 PG Tallgeese Model Kit
rico soul: Strange Work is the same brand as Nillson, which made a bunch of 1/60 scale Astray gundams. They also made the 1/60 scale Frosty Cat model kit which was essentially a Byakko Ryujinmaru.

This 1/60 scale model kit is called Monument, but obviously it's the Tallgeese from Gundam Wing.

Height: 30cm
Materials: ABS
Includes display base

If you look at the design, it definitely resembles they previous Frosty Cat kit aesthetically. However, the frame is fully redesigned from the ground up, with a focus on joint strength and articulation. They specifically wanted to design the kit for stability and so the backpack and shoulder equipment are redesigned to be better balanced. In other words, they made them slightly smaller so the kit would be less top and back heavy.

Aesthetically, I kind of prefer the original Bandai MG/RG Tallgeese designs with the big mechanical Dober Gun and the giant thrusters, but this still definitely has some of that goose charm, even if it does feel a bit too streamlined.

The physical photos are from an initial test print and are only for reference. The colors are not fully finalized yet. The TV Tallgeese colors looks good to me so far.

Currently, preorder price for this is in China 385 RMB without shipping, 435 RMB shipping included in China.
That should put it around 100 USD here, maybe 120 if the box is large. To give you an idea, it's pretty much the same price as the IN ERA+ Aurora but 1:60 scale with no metal frame.

More official news should come after Chinse new years but currently, people are estimating it to be available around May 2025

CycoXIII: Man, May of 2025? Other sites are stating Q3 - Q4 of this year. Hopefully we get a full price option for pre-order soon. I've never put a deposit down on a pre-order, so I don't know how it works when the full price comes out.

rico soul: Any site that has a firm US price or release date posted currently is making up numbers to collect preorder money. It's something that at least one well known florida store likes to pull lol. Nothing official has been formally announced and no box size is known for any sort of logistics estimation. People in China estimating a May release are mostly due to the fact that this model is already in the test print stage which means it's near completion and mass production.
Viarqiey The Chinese Zodiac Series flames Chenlong Model Kit
rico soul: I'm a bit skeptical about this but it's a Chinese zodiac inspired design. This first one is based on the Dragon of course since it's the year of the dragon.

Head height is 25cm
Color scheme is going to be primarily, with some black, grey, and gold highlights
LEDs are planned
Prebuilt metal frame
Prepainted runners
first batch bonus to be announced later

Price is stated at 168RMB
Planned release: Q4 2024

That's quite a bit of information and claims for a relatively unknown and new announcement so I guess we'll have to wait and see how it actually turns out. Price is pretty low considering what they are claiming
Solomon 1/100 MG GP02A Gundam Physalis Pro Pre-cutting Masking
rico soul: lmao, selling the GP02 pre-cut masking tape when the kit isn't even restocked. Really rubbing it in there.

It's not like the Solomon is a resin kit. A main part of the draw is that everything is already part separated and color separated so it doesn't need to be painted or would be easy to paint. The inner frame is really where additional painting and customizing can come in but a lot of the piping details are probably better hand painted or even just detailed using something like gundam markers for ease.

This seems like a relatively expensive product for a very niche audience. I would have rather seen some LIR1040 batteries as add-on items if they really want to milk the Solomon GP02 lol
[Pre-Order] Einta Industries 1/72 Level-Ultimate Series No.01 Sky Defender Model Kit
rico soul: I have to say it's good to see Gundamit put up a reasonable price for this Sky Defender.

$119 for shipping by sea for this massive box is pretty within reasonable ranges for this $55 msrp kit.
I'm glad gundamit isn't trying to take advantage of their international customers with this one and passing the value that Einta offered with the low price on to us rather than artificially gouging the price like on some other popular model kits.

For people that may be curious about how this compared to the Hi-Nu ver ka, we actually have some review images from China that shows just that lol. We can see that despite the claimed 1/72 scale on this, it is actually sort of the same size as the 1/100 scale Hi-Nu ver ka.

The Hi-Nu being a kind of shorter stockier body proportions and the sky defender really stretching the overall height. But the head is the same size and the Hi-Nu head doesn't look out of place at all on the sky defender.

2BOrNot2B: Actually quite reasonable! (Cheaper than the 1/60 Tallgeese!) I'm curious if you would know for those who pre-ordered a long while ago, how would shipping work there? (Like gundamit originally had double deposit before the update, and free shipping though now I see at least in my country it's no longer free on the preview). Would they charge after or?

rico soul: if you preordered, gundamit should have a total price for you now based on the shipping option you had selected at the time. They typically honor the best price they offer as sort of the pre-order guarantee in my experience, but there have been cases in the past like with the daban FAZZ where they refused to ship at the original price. That shouldn't happen with the sky defender though since the full price was never released until now.
[Pre-Order] Sunday Hobby & Border Emperor Napoleon Model Kit
rico soul: Sunday Hobby is really throwing out a lot of concept art but from what we've seen of the Tengu mech they showed off previously, it seems like all of these designs are still very early in the design phase.

While people of course think this looks similar to the Rose Gundam from G Fighter, that is more due to the fact that Rose Gundam was also designed based on the stereotypical Napoleon look.

Border Hobby I believe has only made WWII style military model kits like tanks and planes, so it will be interesting to see how they do with a mecha model kit.

Sunday Hobby seems to be designing mechs based on other emperors as well. They've also teased at a Qin Shi Huang emperor based design which you can see in the attached image.
Hemoxian Over Zero NBD-009 Tactical Neuron Synchronization Avatar Lone Shadow Model Kit
rico soul: I guess it's no real surprise that despite the low msrp of 188RMB, this gets inflated even more than the tastier. It's a shame but the kit quality should be good as this is from the same none zero studios designers and hemoxian production. I guess gone are the days of 200RMB kits going for $65 here.

It's just kind of extra unfortunate since this kit is designed to have multiple forms and it's unlikely gundamit will sell the individual lone shadow main body (msrp 99rmb) since they didn't do that with the tastier. Buying 5x combo packages at this almost $80 a pop is overpaying a tad too much.

Anyways, the packaged kits comes with everything, including the cloak and effect parts. However, the Lone shadow is designed as a ninja squad where the main body has alternate colored armor and face masks to make essentially four grunt units. It really makes sense to buy four additional main body kits to build the full squad I guess we may need to explore proxies for this combo unless gundamit offers the separate kits for this at a reasonable price.
Solomon 1/100 MG RX-78GP02A Mlrs Backpack Model Kit
rico soul: Kind of a disappointing announcement from Solomon. This is specifically the MLRS add-on for their GP02 Physalis model kit. This also includes a set of clear armor for the Physalis but notably, it does not include a clear version of the MLRS. Retailing for 99RMB, it's also not a particularly good deal, especially when gundamit further escalates that to over $50.

Currently there are rumors that Solomon will be making a Mk-II as their next actual model kit. But there were rumors a year ago about a Unicorn too. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Anyways, here's some more pictures. It's set to release this month (January 2025) so should be available soon I guess.
[Pre-Order] Red Star 1/100 MG Pluto Zaku Model Kit
rico soul: So this is a bootleg based on a 3D printed desgin from Lootbox+ (lootboxplus on instagram)
These guys are distributings it without permission so now lootbox went ahead and just made the original stl files free for everyone on cults3d now: cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/1-35-titan-006-aka-zaku-lootboxplus-2

So for people interested in the 3D printing, there you go lol
The design is nice either way and the model kit could be interesting. Guess we will have to see how the quality turns out.
JMS Kunlun Model 1/100 MG Gundam Lfrith Jiu The Witch From Mercury FM Aerial Model Kit
rico soul: So the bootleg retails for 88RMB, and this is kind of another example of how HG and FM bootlegs may not really be worth it for people that have access to Bandai. The Bandai FM generally retails for $50 in the US before discounts so for a simple $10 discount, getting a bootleg is quite debatable.

The molding quality is of course worse than Bandai but looks to be pretty decent on this. The main selling point would be how the head is slightly modified to be a bit more aggressive looking. Looses the Aerial big eyed charm to some degree but I'm sure some people enjoy it. It also comes with waterslide but the typos are kind of hilarious with the caumon and wannr decals for you gundam Aernl.

Some screenshots from a review on bilibili that is comparing it with the permet 6 version from Bandai.
