▼ This review features the heavyweight (in every sense) new release from CCS Toys’ Iron Saga series — Alteisen. It appears in Super Robot Wars OG as the personal unit of the male protagonist, Kyosuke Nanbu. In the game, it is a close-combat machine with an extremely fierce fighting style, embodying the spirit of a true tough guy mecha.

▼ The packaging box is very large. The style continues the tradition of the Iron Saga series, with a line art illustration of Alteisen on the front, simple and eye-catching.

▼ After opening the box, you can see a colored illustration, with a sketch drawing on the inside.

▼ The inner packaging consists of a foam box and a blister tray.

▼ The height is about 30 cm and the weight is around 4 jin (approximately 2 kg), making it likely the heaviest in the Iron Roar series. The product specifications continue the series’ tradition of fully painted, color-separated outer armor combined with an internal metal frame, and the craftsmanship remains very solid. In terms of design and appearance, it stays quite faithful to the original work, without any major overhauls or heavy redesigns—mainly enriching the mechanical details based on the original design, which feels quite comfortable.

▼ The head’s paintwork is very detailed, with the different colored lines appearing neat and orderly, and no noticeable paint bleeding issues. The design is visually appealing, and the armor’s contours and surface variations are well reproduced.

▼ The three horns are sharply sculpted and can all be detached. The central Thunder Blade horn appears to be painted with metallic colors over a transparent part, giving it a translucent effect, making it look much better than the horns on either side.

▼ The Thunder Blade Horn provides a transparent replacement part in the activated state, with more exaggerated dimensions and tension. The transparent part features a nice gradient color treatment.

▼ The outer armor of the crown can be removed, revealing an internal light-up structure. The toy comes with batteries included. However, this time it’s not a magnetic switch, so each time you want to turn the light on or off, you need to disassemble parts, which is a bit troublesome.

▼ There are two light-up modes in total. The first mode is a pure green effect that provides good brightness for the eyes. The second mode features green light in the eyes while also emitting red light from the blade section. However, the light diffusion through the transparent parts is not very strong, so the actual effect is mostly noticeable at the tips.

▼ The red color features a color differentiation, with two distinct textures presented on the outer shell. The white paint has a pearlescent finish, and the outer shell also includes fine engraved lines and tampo printing details.

▼ The back features a reserved interface for attaching a backpack.

▼ The backpack’s nozzle may feature a telescopic mechanism for adjustable extension.

▼ The top part of the accessory controls the movement of the nozzle.

▼ Even in areas like the inside of the skirt armor, which are usually not visible, the necessary details have been carefully addressed. It is fully painted, with corresponding mechanical details included. The front skirt armor can be raised up to 180 degrees.

▼ The side skirt armor is connected with a metal ball joint. In addition to the movement provided by the ball joint, the connection piece also features an outward extension design, further enhancing the leg mobility.

▼ The rear skirt armor features an interconnected design, where the upper movable nozzle parts will drive the white outer armor, allowing for synchronized opening or closing.

▼ The inner details of the rear skirt armor are definitely worth showcasing. Although they are not usually visible, they do add a touch of sleekness and appeal.

▼ The main shoulder weapon, the barrage cannon, is designed with an internal spring mechanism for unfolding. By pressing the gray part on the side, it will automatically spring open. However, the muzzle cover needs to be manually flipped open.

▼ The corresponding shell firing effect parts are also provided. The smoke base uses a magnetic and slot installation method, making it very secure.

▼ Each shell is installed as a separate piece, with a gray smoke effect applied to the transparent parts.

▼ There are a total of 20 shells, with three different sizes, and they can be freely assembled.

▼ The gray armor under the Phalanx sweeper can be lifted up separately.

▼ The entire shoulder armor component is an independent structure, allowing for angle rotation without affecting the arm.

▼ The two outer armors at the back each conceal a spoiler structure, and they are linked in design. Lifting one part will trigger the expansion of the other, but it is quite tight, so please avoid using excessive force.

▼ The left arm is equipped with a triple-barrel machine gun, featuring an unfolding structure that reveals more mechanical details.

▼ The muzzle is made of separate parts with additional paintwork.

▼ The antique iron is equipped with a pair of five-finger articulated hands, with each finger offering strong mobility. Both fist-clenching and open-hand poses can be achieved, making the hands highly flexible. The hand ankle parts can be raised in all directions.

▼ The right arm is a pile driver, which is the most interactive part of this set. By pressing the end component, it activates the rotation of the revolver drum and the ejection effect of the front spike. Not only is the level of detail high, but it is also extremely fun to use, with a satisfying “click-clack” sound that adds to the experience.

▼ The front of the spike is equipped with a red transparent effect piece.

▼ The effect piece can be split into two parts to create an explosion effect when hitting an object, but it requires the use of Blu Tack.

▼ Considering the color of this effect piece, it seems that Ace would be a suitable model for this hit effect.

▼ The revolver drum can be unlocked and pulled out by sliding the part within the blue frame.

▼ The ammunition is made of metal, with a very smooth surface, and the fit for loading is excellent.

▼ As a land battle mech, Guti has extremely robust legs, and the toy does a great job of replicating that. The outer armor looks rugged and wild, with a more intricate color separation overall.

▼ The leg armor also features detailed line engravings and pad printing effects.

▼ There is a split armor expansion structure on the outside of the leg.

▼ The dark red part at the back of the legs will sink in when the knees are bent.

▼ The outer armor on top of the foot can be lifted upwards.

▼ The outer armor on the inside of the foot can be lifted upwards, while the outer side is fixed and should not be forced to move.

▼ The bottom of the foot is made of a solid, single-piece alloy component.

▼ The neck can be extended to provide extra space, which greatly enhances the head’s range of motion. The up-and-down movement is quite ideal, but when tilting the head sideways, be mindful of the angle on both sides.

▼ What stands out is the horizontal rotation, which can turn 360 degrees without restriction. The bending and leaning backward are more standard in range.

▼ The arms feature horizontal rotation design at both the upper arm and forearm.

▼ The shoulder joint, when extended, allows for a significant increase in the arm’s horizontal lift.

▼ The outer armor on the back of the lower leg collapses and gives way when the knee joint bends, allowing for excellent leg articulation.

▼ The foot is a three-part movable design, allowing for a large range of motion when bent.

▼ The stand has been redesigned for this release. It now features four adjustable angles for tilting.

▼ The base is secured with two clasps underneath, ensuring stability.

▼ The head of the stand uses the same mechanism as the previous Great Demon God Caesar, where the spring is pressed and then locked into place using a sliding groove.

▼ This time, the stand’s metal rods have been significantly improved. Both ends of the rods have been cut for easier insertion and removal, while also ensuring strong stability. There are two rods in total, one long and one short.

▼ Compared to previous products in the Iron Soul series, this Gu Tie (Ancient Iron) puts more effort into mechanical interactions, featuring many linkage structures and hands-on play. The left-wheel structure of the pile driver is both fun and stress-relieving, and the spring-loaded deployment of the shoulder cannon is quite spectacular.

▼ In terms of paintwork and materials, it remains solid. The paint surface is smooth, and the quality control is excellent with minimal flaws. However, the weight is on the heavier side—over four pounds, making it a bit tiring to play with for long periods. The joints are tight, ensuring stable standing, and it’s unlikely to experience loosening in the short term.

▼ The overall articulation design is quite impressive. The large shoulder armor, thanks to clever joint design, can achieve flexible movement. Numerous avoidance mechanisms on the body significantly enhance mobility and playability, making it easier for players to pose. Overall, it’s a highly enjoyable and well-crafted Gu Tie toy that is full of surprises and definitely worth adding to your collection!
