rico soul: So I'll add some of the photos from the latest update that haven't been posted yet.

The latest update essentially announced the full release details:

bonus: articulated hands, 5x additional gold painted runners, weapon bracket to display the weapons on the base, and mounting adaptors to mount the leg missile launchers on the arms

target release April 2024
[Pre-Order] Sunday Hobby & Border Emperor Napoleon Model Kit
rico soul: Sunday Hobby is really throwing out a lot of concept art but from what we've seen of the Tengu mech they showed off previously, it seems like all of these designs are still very early in the design phase.

While people of course think this looks similar to the Rose Gundam from G Fighter, that is more due to the fact that Rose Gundam was also designed based on the stereotypical Napoleon look.

Border Hobby I believe has only made WWII style military model kits like tanks and planes, so it will be interesting to see how they do with a mecha model kit.

Sunday Hobby seems to be designing mechs based on other emperors as well. They've also teased at a Qin Shi Huang emperor based design which you can see in the attached image.
Hemoxian Over Zero NBD-009 Tactical Neuron Synchronization Avatar Lone Shadow Model Kit
rico soul: I guess it's no real surprise that despite the low msrp of 188RMB, this gets inflated even more than the tastier. It's a shame but the kit quality should be good as this is from the same none zero studios designers and hemoxian production. I guess gone are the days of 200RMB kits going for $65 here.

It's just kind of extra unfortunate since this kit is designed to have multiple forms and it's unlikely gundamit will sell the individual lone shadow main body (msrp 99rmb) since they didn't do that with the tastier. Buying 5x combo packages at this almost $80 a pop is overpaying a tad too much.

Anyways, the packaged kits comes with everything, including the cloak and effect parts. However, the Lone shadow is designed as a ninja squad where the main body has alternate colored armor and face masks to make essentially four grunt units. It really makes sense to buy four additional main body kits to build the full squad I guess we may need to explore proxies for this combo unless gundamit offers the separate kits for this at a reasonable price.
Solomon 1/100 MG RX-78GP02A Mlrs Backpack Model Kit
rico soul: Kind of a disappointing announcement from Solomon. This is specifically the MLRS add-on for their GP02 Physalis model kit. This also includes a set of clear armor for the Physalis but notably, it does not include a clear version of the MLRS. Retailing for 99RMB, it's also not a particularly good deal, especially when gundamit further escalates that to over $50.

Currently there are rumors that Solomon will be making a Mk-II as their next actual model kit. But there were rumors a year ago about a Unicorn too. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Anyways, here's some more pictures. It's set to release this month (January 2025) so should be available soon I guess.
[Pre-Order] Red Star 1/100 MG Pluto Zaku Model Kit
rico soul: So this is a bootleg based on a 3D printed desgin from Lootbox+ (lootboxplus on instagram)
These guys are distributings it without permission so now lootbox went ahead and just made the original stl files free for everyone on cults3d now: cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/1-35-titan-006-aka-zaku-lootboxplus-2

So for people interested in the 3D printing, there you go lol
The design is nice either way and the model kit could be interesting. Guess we will have to see how the quality turns out.
JMS Kunlun Model 1/100 MG Gundam Lfrith Jiu The Witch From Mercury FM Aerial Model Kit
rico soul: So the bootleg retails for 88RMB, and this is kind of another example of how HG and FM bootlegs may not really be worth it for people that have access to Bandai. The Bandai FM generally retails for $50 in the US before discounts so for a simple $10 discount, getting a bootleg is quite debatable.

The molding quality is of course worse than Bandai but looks to be pretty decent on this. The main selling point would be how the head is slightly modified to be a bit more aggressive looking. Looses the Aerial big eyed charm to some degree but I'm sure some people enjoy it. It also comes with waterslide but the typos are kind of hilarious with the caumon and wannr decals for you gundam Aernl.

Some screenshots from a review on bilibili that is comparing it with the permet 6 version from Bandai.

[Coming Soon] Hemoxian Over Zero Series Batman Arkham Knight Model Kit
rico soul: This is part of the Over Zero series like Tastier and Lone Shadow and the boxer Baki that was also announced. These kits are all designed by the NoneZero Studios design team which is what really put Hemoxian on the map for model kit fans.

When Tastier first came out, there were Batman resin kits to make it an Arkham Knight Batman. Not sure if that was the original inspiration for this but Hemoxian manages to get the IP license to make this Arkham Knight model kit in the Over Zero line.

No release window or price or other details have really been announced yet but the grey model prototype was shown on display the WF recently. We'll have to see how the IP license may affect the final price but typically, NoneZeroStudios kits in the Over Zero line have been 188RMB for the full package, and their other kit, the Thor was also at the 199RMB price range. So hopefully this Batman will not be too expensive.

I'll comment again if I see any updates
Infinite Dimension 1/100 Genesis Tactical Unit Commander Aircraft Model Kits Collector Version
rico soul: So the regular edition of this kit has sold out now and while the collectors edition is still up for preorder, it's difficult to say when they will actually ship since it seems like they are having some supply chain issues with the die cast parts.

Well I guess we can still talk a bit about this based on some things to watch out for when you get yours based on experience my friends and other have got from building the regular version.

First and most importantly, be careful with the shoulder joints. They are very fragile. The plastic moving parts that allow you to pull out the arm is simply very thin and small and relatively thin (see pictures). I don't believe these are part of the die-cast parts from the released photos but maybe they still have time to change that. Lots of people have been finding that this shoulder joint cracks very easily.

Otherwise, the overall fit and finish is sold. The molding is some of the best that can be found anywhere. The inner frame is fairly complex and there's a lot of moving parts. Some armor pieces are a bit loose and can fall off though. The knees are a bit weak but this thing is pretty much only going to be displayed on the included action base with that giant backpack.

I am definitely looking forward to getting mine and hopefully they can start shipping soon.
[Pre-Order] Rabbit Model WR01 1/100 Gundam Amazing Exia Model Kit
rico soul: So I haven't really heard too much about this model kit yet beyond just the CG promo photos that have been posted here. The design looks more reminiscent of the YJL Amazing Exia GK rather than the Premium Bandai MG Amazing Exia.

However, while the design seems to be the same as the YJL GK, it just doesn't look as good. I don't know if it's just due to the CG renders but we will have to see where this goes. Hope they release some grey model promo images soon.

I'll attach the p-bandai and yjl amazing exia photos here for reference and you can judge for yourself.
HS GNY-001 Astraea Gundam Model Kit
rico soul: Early reviews of this are in.
So it's pretty much just a direct color swap of the HS red astraea type-f avalanche kit and all the same problems are here. Even the clear type-f mask and GN hammer is included on the runners

So for people unfamiliar with the HS red Astraea avalanche from before, you can build both the base astraea and the avalanche version.

So notable negatives are:
- The swords are painted on the runners so there will be visible nub marks  after cutting them out
- nub placement on the kit can be in poorly designed places so nub cleanup can be a bit of a pain
- frame is based on the MG Exia frame and even though the ankles are modified it can still be a bit floppy if displaying without an action base
- reviews say the joints are decently tight out of the box for different poses, but I know for the red avalanche before, people had complained about joins sagging over time.

No LED is included in this kit, but it would be compatible with any MG Exia compatible LED

I've always liked the aesthetics of the HS Astraea even though it's not a direct rip of the metal build design. Since it's mostly compatible with the Exia metal frame kits, a lot of the joint issues can be fixed.
