rico soul: This figure is so sick. The spring loaded arm spikes are just too much fun. All of the magnetic attachments are also a great way to add a quality feel to the figure. I really like this Shin Getter Black.

rico soul: I believe this one’s based off the metal build, like the bootleg Astrea gundams from Daban. So in case people are wondering, this is likely not compatible with the metal exia frame kits.

rico soul: It’s honestly about time we finally see some 3rd party knockoffs of these stands. Limiting these things to premium Bandai really sucks for the people that bought all the pban F90 A-Z packs. The most recent pban print of this is currently active and goes for $36USD before taxes and shipping for the twin set so this is a cheaper alternative too as expected.

rico soul: Ok, this is interesting and all but I'm not really seeing Zhao Yun in this. I guess he does have a spear but this looks more like the recent wave of barbatos inspired more bestial designs that's been popular in china.

Will need to see the prototype or some CG renders

This looks pretty much identical to the 1/72 metal build figure, which I guess is to be expected but does that mean this the same scale too?

Did they just put the WuChenghou torso on a stand and call it a day?

Are they going to go back and make busts of the Takeda Shinden and Date Masamune as well?

So many questions lol

rico soul: It's nice to see a reprint of the MG Banshee Norn is nice and all but it's such an old design. Bandai still reprints it frequently so they're likely not going to update it anytime soon.

Kind of wish we'd see e a 3rd party like Daban take the updated Unicorn frame from the MGEX Unicorn and adapt it to all the variations like the Banshee and Phenex since it doesn't seem like Bandai's planning to do it anytime soon.

The old design still looks nice for the most part but the proportions are a bit wonky and the transformation is a bit finicky.

rico soul: This looks like a nice set of photo etch parts and tools for the hi-nu for intermediate to advanced modelers. I do like how this isn't overdone like some other kits.

Remember, some of the photo-etch parts are intended to be painted. The trick though is using a metal primer so that paint can stick well. Certainly some of the joint highlights can remain the silver metallic color and still look good but there are also lots of parts that are intended to add a lot of surface detail on a part that should be blue or grey or whatever, like the large shoulder armor details that replaces the plastic fins that are normally on the shoulder.

It's also really neat that this kit includes a painting mask for the fin funnels. should make painting those repetitive parts easier and should also work for the RG nu gundam.

rico soul: I have friend that builds the regular 4th form 1/60 scale Barbatos and that thing looked sick. For a ground up GK, it seemed like the build wasn't as complicated as I would have thought. Still a pretty complicated build to sand, scribe and paint though and definitely still an advanced build.

Now this 6th form is probably one of my favorite versions of Barbatos next to the Barbatos Lupus, however I do have some concerns about whether the figure would be very stable. I'm assuming most likely this will always need an action base to be displayed, especially with the TRex mace.

The 6th form overall is just more top heavy and the feet being high heels are not nearly as stable as the 4th form. Still since Bandai hasn't made a PG Barbatos yet, a GK like this is really all we can count on. Maybe fingers crossed that Bandai will release a new PG in 2023 and have that PG be our favorite Barbie.

rico soul: I was waiting to see this pop up for pre-order but I'm a bit disappointed at the price. MSRP on this is the same as the Ao Bing at $200 RMB but I guess all the hype around the Ao Bing has really driven up the resale price. I'll have to think on whether I'm going to preorder this.
