Hammer Cat GK SEED Mobile Suit Embedded Tactical Enforcer for MG 1/100 ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam
rico soul: Uh guys, that is not a chibi gundam, the meteor unit is just huuuge lol. That's a regular 1/100 scale MG freedom 2.0 in the promo pics.

This resin kit is pretty legendary so really the people that want to buy it probably know what they're getting. The thing is almost a meter long. Even without the LEDs, just the sheer size is crazy.

I'd be excited just seeing a completed version of this in person. It's such an insane kit.
Sun Queen X-01 Dinosaur Mechanical Beast Model Kit Black Version
rico soul: Ok, the color really does look better on the actual product. It's not more like a dark grey.

However, the entire kit is pretty loose, with limited articulation and poor plastic quality. I guess that makes sense for the price. Both the white and black one are the same, just a color swap.

The one interesting design is a plastic screw with tool that can be used to tighten or detach the backpack. Some of the other joints can be tightened the same way.

Overall, the build quality of this is a bit poor, but aesthetically it's so good. Might be worth a try with the low price
[Pre-Order] MoShow Progenitor Effect Butcher-E Elite Class Model Kit w/ Metal Frame
rico soul: I can't wait to see what MoShow can do with the die-cast frame model kit formula.

This Butcher-E looks to be the close range variant. I do really like the heavy frontline mecha aesthetic. With that big blade, this is the one that really seems to live up to that butcher name. Armaments seems to include that cleaver, a shotgun, and a submachine gun.

Not sure if the original concept heights are still true but if so, this seems to be the shortest out of the three kits. Kind of an interesting choice. Works for a close range brawler I guess, like the Landman Rodi from IBO.

Definitely buying all three. MoShow quality for a kit I can build is just gonna be awesome.

Apparently they already have the grey models build and are now just in the tuning phase to enhance the build and snap fit experience. That's great to hear but I just want to see what the models look like lol.
Daban 1/100 6601 MG MBF-P02KAI Gundam Astray Red Frame KAI Model Kit w/ Decal & Display Stand
rico soul: I think people probably need a realistic photo of this Astray. Attached is from someone in China that built this 6601 reprint, with some minimal stickers applied.

So according to Chinese reviewers, this is really a very good reprint and retools the molds to fix a lot of the Daban issues. Probably one of the best fit and finish out of Daban kits. The Astray Red Frame Kai is a classic and alot of people's first MG gunpla kit. At this low price, pretty solid kit to pick up.

Nice to see the Astray really getting some more love this year with all the metal frames and the powered red gorilla arms expansion kit. If you haven't built one of these before, and don't want to buy the Bandai original, this is a fine choice. It's also a nice affordable way to get an Astray body for the EW powered red expansion arms.

The Bandai kit reprints all the time, but the daban certainly cheaper and apparently this reprint is actually really good with minimal issues.
MJH 1/100 MG MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame Powered Red HIRM Version Model Kit w/ Decal
rico soul: Now that this is available, there are some pros and cons to the kit. Price wise, it's pretty solid and a great entry point. The listing is probably not obvious, but this actually includes the full red frame astray, not just the powered red configuration like Bandai's HIRM.

The shoulder armor unfortunately does not include the detailed molding pattern that the original and EW versions do but it's serviceable.

For this price, it's a pretty nice complete package.

If you have an Astray already though, you may want to get the EW arms instead, though this is a better value.
I have the MJH Astray Noir and it's a very interesting and fairly smooth build when compared to Bandai MGs. The way MJH converted the HIRM to a kit design makes for a very unique experience.
HeatBoys HB0015 TMNT Donatello
rico soul: Donatello is definitely my favorite turtle and snipers are my favorite style of mecha so I'm definitely excited or this one. I'm not too sure about the cape though, since generally I feel like cloth capes tend to look too fake but molded plastic capes looks too static. It's just a tricky thing to get just right.

They last product photo didn't show the cape so I wonder if they are still planning to use that part of the design.
HowlingStar Cenozoicera Atmosphere CZ-12A Nebula B-Type Model Kit
rico soul: So this is kind of interesting. This is apparently an officially licensed product from the gacha game Cross Core, which is pretty much a sci-fi mecha waifu tactical rpg.

Not sure where this Nebula mech actually fits into the game since the characters are all humans. HowlingStar is apparently also making some mecha girl figures from the game as well.

In any case, this mech design is pretty interesting and they just released a promo video for it. Looks very futuristic as befitting of the game. Will love to see how this actually turns out as a build.
Chunxia Model 1/100 Metal Frame for Daban 8802 MG ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam Model Kit
rico soul: Interesting.....I didn't know this one was in development.

Currently the Dragon Momoko frame is the best one for their kit and when fully built, it's pretty close to the original Bandai Metal Build. The Daban 8802 has better parts separation for color correctness than the Dragon Momoko but was lacking a good metal frame. This looks to be a fairly beefy option and even includes reinforced parts for the backpack.

Kind of a niche item but should be a great upgrade for people that bought the 8802 MB Strike Freedom.

I'll attach a photo of my Dragon Momoko frame for comparison.
[Pre-Order] Hemoxian UTX-6030 Over Zero Series Tastier Model Kit
rico soul: It will be pretty interesting to see how this turns out. Hemoxian's first mecha kit was pretty solid, and their upcoming Thor kit is looking pretty well engineered as well.

But a sleek mech with a robot dog is likely going to be the one that gets me to bite.
The prototype models looks pretty nicely detailed.
Point Factory Studio 1/100 MGEX Strike Freedom Gundam Wings of Light Upgrade Kit Clear Version
rico soul: People have gotten their review copies of these effect parts now and they're pretty nice but there does seem to be a couple issues.

Mainly it's just the weight. Since the MGEX isn't the metal build, it wasn't necessarily designed to support such heavy effect parts so the joints aren't super confidence inspiring. Point Factory apparently did say they are also working on a MGEX metal frame kit though so that will help I'm sure.

These things come disassembled and to attach them, they have to be assembled over the wings, sandwiching the reflective part and the MGEX wings in between.

Not much to say about the painted version otherwise but for this clear version, because it's clear, you're be able to see the pegs and also the edges of the reflective part if you look closely. That may bother some people.
