▼ Since this is an early sample, the official packaging has not yet been finalized. As for accessories, it includes the alloy-framed Xiaoyaozi, 12 weapons, the Taiyi Mechanism Gourd, a support stand, and a lotus-themed display base. The sheer number of accessories sets a new record for the entire series.

▼ The bonus includes a hard copperplate-style folding screen, featuring an ink wash landscape painting that enhances the overall cultivation vibe. And indeed, the poem printed on it perfectly captures the essence of true carefree wandering.

▼ The Xiaoyaozi figure stands approximately 22 cm tall, and its overall appearance closely matches the earlier concept art that was released. The fully armed version represents the “Enlightened Form,” while the unarmed, lighter version is referred to as the “Seeking Dao Form.”

▼ The figure’s body is elegantly slender and refined, with asymmetrical robe panels and long flowing hair cascading from the back—striking a perfect balance between motion and stillness. The color scheme, primarily composed of a divine white and gold, conveys a transcendent, awe-inspiring presence befitting a cultivator.

▼ Even with only basic panel lining and water decals applied to this sample, the overall level of completion is already impressively high.

▼ The energy core on the figure’s chest features a conceptualized Taiji (Yin-Yang) design, presented with transparent parts and enhanced by reflective stickers inside to emphasize texture and depth.

▼ The large conical hat on the head appears to be an abstract evolution of the Yin-Yang fish symbol, seamlessly integrated with the tall cultivator-style hair crown—creating a distinctly sacred and transcendent aesthetic.

▼ The large conical hat features two adjustable joints—one at the center and one on each side—allowing the angles to be moved up and down.

▼ Thanks to the narrow angle of the eye components, the figure achieves a beautiful light transmission effect—even though the eyes are set deep within the head.

▼ Although the “Enlightened Form” adds dual arm components to the back, the extended flowing ribbons enhance the figure’s overall look with a more graceful and agile visual effect.

▼ The figure’s full-body armor design is largely inspired by the evolution of traditional Chinese Taoist robes, featuring smooth, flowing curves throughout. On the skirt armor, you can spot engraved cloud-pattern motifs and gold embossed parts that add to the intricate detailing. Additionally, blue curved water decals further enrich the robe-like aesthetic, bringing out the refined elegance of a cultivator’s attire.

▼ The four longswords serve as Xiaoyaozi’s primary weapons. Each blade features unique embossed details and matching water decals symbolizing Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning—representing the ever-changing forces of nature.

▼ The four swords can also transform into the “Sword-Riding Form,” enabling Xiaoyaozi to adopt dynamic battle poses inspired by the legendary art of sword-flying combat.

▼ The giant gourd accessory, Taiyi Mechanism Gourd, is one of Xiaoyaozi’s key components, standing approximately 19 cm tall. When placed next to the figure, it carries a significant sense of presence and weight.

▼ It can also be mounted on Xiaoyaozi’s back, though due to the shift in center of gravity, it may require support from a stand to maintain balance.

▼ The decorative patterns on the gourd echo those found on Xiaoyaozi’s main body. By pulling the top of the gourd, a linked mechanism is triggered to unseal the four swords, symbolizing the release of their hidden power.

▼ The transparent parts on the exterior of the gourd react to UV light, causing them to fluoresce—revealing intricate pattern details that are otherwise hard to notice under normal lighting.

▼ In addition to storing weapons, the gourd also has enough space to stash coins—just in case. (A surprisingly practical feature!)

▼ The four weapons represent Heaven, Earth, Man, and Spirit, and they can be combined into a single greatsword named “Dao”, symbolizing the ultimate unity of all paths.

▼ To achieve a higher level of completeness for Xiaoyaozi, Ming Jiang Zhuan has equipped the finished inner frame with metal and POM components at key joint areas—including the shoulders, elbows, waist, hips, knees, and feet. This enhances both joint durability and weight distribution, ensuring greater stability and poseability.

▼ The inner frame design also incorporates interwoven transparent red and blue detail parts, symbolizing meridians and blood vessels.

▼ Even though these elements are mostly hidden once the outer armor is equipped, they are still meticulously included—elevating the concept of the internal structure to a deeper, more refined level.

▼ The head sculpt features a two-stage hinge joint at the neck, allowing for flexible head movement even with multiple interfering elements such as sideburns, braids, and the large conical hat. The design ensures smooth articulation and natural posing despite the complexity of the attachments.

▼ Thanks to the frame’s articulated clearance design, the waist joint can achieve an impressive 75-degree forward bend, allowing for a dramatic “broken-waist” style pose. Side-to-side rotation and lateral tilts are also easily accomplished, offering exceptional flexibility.

▼ The arms can lift outward to over 90 degrees, and the elbows bend to approximately 120 degrees. The shoulders feature an outward-extension mechanism, providing excellent support for dynamic posing.

▼ Although the skirt armor is quite large in design, it’s connected with a five-segment hinge system, which minimizes interference with lower body articulation and allows for a wide range of leg movement.

▼ The hips feature a lockable vertical sliding joint, the knees can bend up to approximately 120 degrees, and the legs can kick outward to over 90 degrees horizontally. The ankle articulation also provides a solid and reliable range of ground contact.

▼ Thanks to the highly articulated joint system mentioned above, even complex poses—such as kneeling on one knee, gripping a greatsword with both hands, deep horse stances, and cross-legged sitting—can be achieved with ease.

▼ The lotus base truly elevates the entire set, making Xiaoyaozi a commanding centerpiece no matter where it’s displayed. The base measures approximately 36 cm in length and 9 cm in height. At its center is a Tai Chi Yin-Yang symbol created using tampography (pad printing), while the eight lotus petals each feature unique patterns corresponding to the eight trigrams of the Bagua: Qian, Dui, Li, Zhen, Xun, Kan, Gen, and Kun.

▼ A storage compartment is also built into the underside of the base, allowing you to neatly store extra parts and accessories.

▼ The lotus petals can also be fully raised for display, adding a dynamic and ceremonial flair to the overall presentation.

▼ The lotus base and the gourd are connected via a dedicated angled display arm, forming a unified support structure. This allows Xiaoyaozi to stand gracefully atop the combined display, adding both visual balance and thematic cohesion.

▼ In addition, the set includes a standard adjustable support arm, which features elegant cloud-patterned relief designs on the outer surface—adding a touch of traditional flair to the overall aesthetic.

▼ From a practical standpoint in terms of posing and load-bearing, this support stand is more than sufficient.

▼ For display in a cabinet, we recommend using glass bricks or risers to slightly elevate the rear of the lotus base, allowing Xiaoyaozi to be posed as if he’s leaping out from the center of the lotus—wielding various weapons with flying swords orbiting around him.
The result is an incredibly powerful and dramatic presence.
