▼ From the highly popular IP Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s, officially licensed by Konami, the domestic model brand Guyin Anime has delivered its first model kit of a card monster, Stardust Dragon (sample), to our editorial office. As an incredibly popular dragon monster excelling in both anime and the card game, its first model kit adaptation is truly a cause for celebration.

The first batch bonus includes an "Accel Synchro" aura effect part, with the final retail release also featuring a card display stand. Beyond its iconic dragon form, the kit can transform into a high-speed flight mode, perfectly capturing its elegant, streamlined silhouette. Let’s dive in and see what it has to offer.

The Accel Synchro aura ring is a special bonus included with the first production run.

Also included are two auxiliary stands designed to support the wings, though the new joints already provide excellent stability, making these less essential.

▼ The kit boasts impressive completion straight out of the box, with excellent color separation achieved through intelligent part division alone.

For those with painting skills, applying metallic paint to the dark purple and blue-green components would further enhance Stardust Dragon’s characteristic texture.

As the inaugural release in this series, the assembly difficulty is pleasantly straightforward. The neck and tail joint structures bear similarities to the Figure-rise Standard Blue-Eyes White Dragon. However, Stardust Dragon’s larger size incorporates additional POM parts in the joints to improve load-bearing capacity, requiring a bit more force during their assembly. Other sections, even with pre-painted details, do not fit excessively tightly, making this a friendly build for both newcomers and seasoned modelers.

The soft plastic toe claws are prone to detaching; a touch of hobby cement for reinforcement would be beneficial here.

Guyin has previously revealed other incredibly popular card monsters such as Shooting Quasar Dragon, Borreload Savage Dragon, and Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon at earlier exhibitions. Recreating these beloved dragon monsters as model kits is an exciting new venture, and we eagerly anticipate what else is to come from this series.
